called to renew
Called to Renew is a fundraising campaign with the diocese. Every parish must participate and our assigned goal is to raise $540,000 over 5 years. Half of it will go the diocese for various needs (such as improving churches, prison ministry, hospital ministry, seminary, etc.). Half of it will go to our parish and it will contribute to the furnishing of our parish hall and interior renovation of the church. This decision was made by the parish council. The first item of interior renovation of the church is the tabernacle and the candles, which you can see in the photo below.
Next will be the baptistry and confessional which will be in the back of the church.
Below is an artist's rendering of what that area could look like.
After that will be the altar and the sanctuary area and then other possible things, which will be designed and implemented in the future.
There is an executive committee that had been meeting before the pandemic. They have made their pledges, and a small handful of parishioners have made their pledges already as well. The pandemic forced the campaign to be put on pause and it will resume officially some time next year.
We currently have 37 pledges ranging from $3,000 to $60,000 to be paid over five years (that comes out to $50 per month to $1,000 per month for five years). The average pledge is $9,906 ($165.10 per month). We have raised $356,600 in pledges, which means we are already 2/3 way to our goal. Over $38,000 have been paid. Please be supportive once the campaign resumes next year.
Although the campaign will officially resume next year, anybody that wishes to make a pledge now may choose to do. If you wish to make a pledge now, please contact Father to let him know you want to come by to fill out a pledge card.
